Welcome!

Thank you for visiting. Remember to visit the IBTA Guestbook and our all new Fun Page!

The IBTA is a non-profit making organisation, formed in 1974 with just five member corps and the technical expertise and dedication of one woman, Joy Townsley. Now the IBTA has 27 member corps and independent members from Southern England and Ireland.

The primary objectives of the IBTA are to promote the highest standards of baton twirling techniques, coupled with good sportsmanship and ethics. We have a group of highly trained and dedicated teachers available to visit our member corps, including visiting teachers from the USA and Canada, all of whom have been found to be extremely knowledgeable and beneficial.

Each year we hold a minimum of four competitions, embracing all aspects of baton twirling activity and techniques. At the conclusion of our National Championships, which takes place over the Easter holidays, over £2,000.00 worth of trophies and medals are awarded to the winning participants. Included in these four contests is the Irish Open Championship held in Dublin in October, where all members are able to compete.
