Twirlers Code of Ethics

 
1. All twirlers will conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike and respectable manner at all times.
2. All twirlers must, above all, agree to abide by the constitution and the current rules and procedures of the IBTA, the instructions of their teachers, and follow the guidelines within the corps they participate.
3. All twirlers shall make every effort to encourage good sportsmanship amongst other twirlers, parents, corps directors and other IBTA members.
4. A twirlers conduct towards other twirlers must be characterised by courtesy, good faith and respect.
5. All twirlers shall not make false claims concerning their own achievements. Competitions and competition results shall be referred to accurately by rightful names, age, divisions and titles. When dealing with the press and others, all information must be factual.
6. A twirler will turn defeat in to victory by continually working to improve skills and good sportsmanship. Remember that giving your best effort is as important as victory. Set yourself realistic goals and work to achieve them.
7. All twirlers shall respect the ability of their opponents, as well as the judgement of officials, judges, teachers and corps directors. Set a good example by acknowledging the good efforts of others.
8. All twirlers must follow the advice of their doctor in determining when they are ready to twirl again.
9. All twirlers should strive to be proud of baton twirling, their corps members, and be a credit to both.
